Privacy Policy
Overview
Section titled “Overview”This privacy policy describes how the Companion Module for vNAS (“the Application”) handles user data when integrating with VATSIM services and vNAS APIs.
Data Collection
Section titled “Data Collection”Information We Access
Section titled “Information We Access”When you authenticate with VATSIM OAuth, the Application accesses:
- Your VATSIM CID (Controller/Pilot ID)
- Basic profile information necessary for VATSIM API integration
Information We Store
Section titled “Information We Store”The Application stores NO user data. All authentication and data handling occurs locally on your machine during runtime only.
How We Use Your Information
Section titled “How We Use Your Information”The VATSIM CID and authentication tokens are used exclusively to:
- Authenticate your session with VATSIM services
- Integrate with existing VATSIM APIs
- Integrate with vNAS APIs for controller functionality
All data processing occurs locally on your device. No information is transmitted to third-party servers or stored in any persistent manner.
Data Storage and Retention
Section titled “Data Storage and Retention”- Local Processing Only: All OAuth authentication and API interactions occur on your local machine
- No Persistent Storage: No user data, tokens, or personal information is stored after the Application closes
- Session-Based: Authentication tokens exist only in memory during active sessions
Third-Party Services
Section titled “Third-Party Services”The Application interacts with:
- VATSIM OAuth Services: For authentication purposes
- VATSIM APIs: For retrieving controller and network information
- vNAS APIs: For controller client functionality

Data Security
Section titled “Data Security”Since no data is persistently stored, there are no data storage security concerns. All API communications follow the security protocols established by VATSIM and vNAS.
Your Rights
Section titled “Your Rights”As we do not store any personal data, there is no data to access, modify, or delete. All data handling is ephemeral and exists only during active Application sessions.
Children’s Privacy
Section titled “Children’s Privacy”The Application does not knowingly collect or store information from anyone. VATSIM membership requirements apply to all users.
Changes to This Policy
Section titled “Changes to This Policy”We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.

- VATSIM’s Terms of Service and API usage requirements

Summary: This Application uses VATSIM OAuth solely for authentication and API integration. No user data is stored. All processing occurs locally on your device.
